What does the winter defense training focus on?
Our defense sessions cater to players of all skill levels, focusing on foundational work for beginners and progressing to advanced techniques as players develop.Beginner Players: The main focus is on building true foundational skills, such as proper footwork, glove positioning, and understanding defensive roles. Drills are simplified to ensure players master the basics and develop strong habits.
Advanced Players: Training incorporates more complex techniques, including situational drills, quick reactions, and high-repetition exercises under game-like conditions to sharpen defensive instincts.
Key areas of focus include:
Footwork: Enhancing agility, balance, and range.
Glove Work: Perfecting fielding mechanics for various types of plays.
Repetitions: Reinforcing consistency and muscle memory through high-volume drills.
This progression ensures all players are prepared to excel at their current level and continue developing for future competition.

What does the pitching progression look like?
Our pitching program is structured to support both beginner and advanced players, ensuring everyone progresses at their appropriate level.Beginner Players: Emphasis is placed on basic throwing mechanics, proper form, and arm care to establish a strong pitching foundation. Drills are controlled and focused on mastering the fundamentals.
Advanced Players: The progression includes more challenging elements such as bullpens, mound work, and live at-bats to prepare for high-level competition.
Here’s an overview of the seasonal progression:
December: Mechanics and light throwing to establish proper form and flexibility.
January: Light bullpens on flat ground (50 feet) focusing on control and consistent mechanics.
February: Transition to mound work with 40-pitch bullpens emphasizing delivery and accuracy.
March: Live at-bats and full bullpens (up to 50 pitches per week) to simulate game situations.
This approach ensures every pitcher develops safely and effectively, building skills and confidence at the right pace for their experience level.escription
